Can I have multiple pets in one painting?
Yes! There is no limit to the number of pets that I can paint in one image, however for paintings with two or three animals a size of no smaller than 10x12 would be recommended, and for images with more than three pets a size of no smaller than 10x14. This is so that there is enough space to do your furry friends justice! There will also be a small increase in price of £10 per extra pet - as naturally paintings with multiple animals take longer to paint!
Does the price listed include postage?
Yes all prices factor in UK postage. International postage will incur a small additional fee - based on parcel size etc.
Why are framed paintings more expensive?
The extra £20 is to cover the cost of the frame, as well as the increased postage cost (due to higher weight)
Can you frame a stretched canvas?
I do not currently offer this service. However it can be done with something called a "Floating Frame". These are usually quite expensive and I do not have space or skills to make my own yet. It may be something i look into in the future.
Do you paint backgrounds?
With the exception of items like a leash or toy, I do not paint backgrounds. It simply is not my style and I do not enjoy painting them. If you are desperate for a background I unfortunately am not the artist for you.
Can you work from any photo?
In general I will never turn a photo down, as what a person wants in a painting is personal taste, however these are some tips to ensure that I can capture your pet in the best detail possible:
1.) Take the photo in natural light to avoid odd artificial colours appearing in the photo
2.) Take the photo from the pet's level, to avoid odd shadows, or strange proportions
3.) Try (I know its hard!) to keep your pet still, blurry photos are difficult to work from and will not produce the best results
4.) Consider your desired composition when choosing a photo... if you want a painting of just your pet's face, it is advisable to not send a full body photo as when cropped there will not be enough fine detail to capture their character
5.) If you want a photo of multiple pets it is usually better to send individual photos of them for me to put together, that is of course unless you have one of them in a specific pose together that you want me to capture!
